Rockal Evans competed in the Sail Sydney in Australia, what was scheduled for two days of racing, Day One was canceled due to High Winds.
Evans would finish 3rd in the Finn Class that featured 10 boats.
Day Two was another very windy day with the winds 25-30 knots, with organizers setting up 3 long races course.
Going into the last race 3 boats, Rob McMillian, Anthony Nossiter, and Evans were all tied on 4 points so the last race was winner takes all race.
McMillan crossed the line first to finish with 5 points, Nossiter was second in the race and second overall with 6 points, and Evans finished 4th and third overall with 8 points.
Evans told www.islandstats.com, “I wasn’t feeling strong like my normal self in the windy conditions because I have been recovering from a lower back injury and haven’t been sailing the Finn for 12 weeks so no training into to lead up to this Regatta.”
