Bermudian swimmer Marleigh Howes gained valuable collegiate race sharpness after representing McGill University at the RSEQ University Cup #2 in Montreal.
The 18-year-old freshman sprint specialist contested two individual events during the meet, testing herself across both freestyle and butterfly disciplines.
Taking to the pool for the women’s 50m freestyle, the Warwick native produced a solid sprint to touch the wall in 27.97 seconds, securing 24th place overall in a competitive collegiate field.
Howes was back on the blocks for the women’s 100m butterfly, where she clocked a composed time of 1:05.95 to claim 20th place.
The performances mark another steady step forward in the collegiate ranks for Howes, who continues to establish herself as an integral part of the Martlets squad following an impressive start to the university season.
