Sensational Moore Claims Six-Medals at World Police Games

Bermudian swimmer Madelyn Moore produced an extraordinary individual display to capture six medals and propel the island to fourth place overall at the 2026 USIP World Police Games in Santo Domingo.

Competing at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, Moore single-handedly anchored Bermuda's campaign against international police delegations, mounting a dominant charge across the sprint disciplines to collect five gold medals and one silver.

The sprint specialist swept the freestyle events, storming to victory in the 50m before claiming top spot in the 100m.

She proved equally imperious on her back, securing double gold across both the 50m and 100m backstroke, before adding a fifth title with a clinical win in the 50m butterfly and rounding out the meet with 100m butterfly silver.

Reflecting on her dominant showing, Moore revealed that taking time out to establish her career with the Bermuda Police Service had paid dividends in the pool.

"I’m so happy to be in the place that I’m at physically and mentally," Moore said. "Having a break was the right thing for me to do, especially as I was getting my career with the BPS off the ground. It was very demanding to do both.

"I'm really truly enjoying where I'm at. I'm loving training with Aquatic Sports Performance in California, and it was really fun out there. I'm really glad we went back to Santo Domingo because I loved the pool, the facilities were so great, and it was a nice chance to compete in that pool again."

Despite being in the opening weeks of the new campaign, Moore was thrilled to find herself already operating near peak speed.

"I'm super happy with my 50 times because all of them were on par with my season's best from last year, and this was only the beginning of the season," she added. "To be on par with where I was at the end of last season is awesome.

"I don't really train for the 100s, but I just did them to compete and see if I could win some medals, so I'm super happy with how that turned out. It was so awesome to get to know the other police officers from different countries, see how they did, and it was just such a good time."

Moore's six-medal haul ensured Bermuda closed out the multi-sport event in fourth position on the overall standings in the Dominican capital.
