Bermuda’s Emma Harvey continued her stunning record-breaking campaign at the 2026 Short Course World Championship Trials in Westmont, Illinois, lowering yet another national standard on day three.
Following back-to-back record-breaking swims across the opening two days of competition at the FMC Natatorium, the 25-year-old Olympian returned to the water to rewrite her own national benchmark in the women’s 100m butterfly.
Harvey touched the wall in 58.62 seconds to secure 11th place overall in a fiercely contested field.
The clinical swim sliced nearly a full second off her previous Bermuda short-course record of 59.45 seconds, which she set on 25 November 2023 at the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association Winter Meet.
The performance marks Harvey's fourth national record in just three days in Illinois, capping an extraordinary run of form as she cements her standing among the world’s elite short-course sprinters.
