Terceira Completes USTA Level 5 Singles and Doubles Sweep

IslandStats.com
Bermudian junior tennis prospect Lee Terceira produced a commanding weekend of tennis in the United States, sweeping both the girls’ Under-12 singles and doubles crowns at the USTA Level 5 SACTA Harvest tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.

Fresh from qualifying for the prestigious Orange Bowl Masters Qualifier the previous weekend, the young Bermudian carried that momentum into Georgia, taking on a 24-player main draw in the singles while simultaneously launching a doubles campaign.

Terceira proved the class of the field in the singles bracket, showcasing exceptional athleticism, baseline authority, and sharp court coverage throughout the knockouts.

She opened her account with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 quarter-final victory over Teesta Mohan before dispatching Adalyn Johnson 6-3, 6-3 in the final four. In the championship match, Terceira dismantled Mila Azucki with a ruthless 6-1, 6-1 performance to hoist the singles trophy without dropping a set.

The Bermudian's afternoon was far from finished, however, as she linked up with singles opponent Mohan in the doubles draw.

The newly formed tandem eased into the final with an emphatic 8-3 victory over Jiae Hong and Antoinette Raley in the semi-finals.

The title decider proved a far sterner examination of their composure. Facing Sarah Ho and Bailey Mun, Terceira and Mohan were pushed all the way in a high-octane encounter that finished 8-8. With nerves tested, Terceira's steady resolve helped carry the pair through the decisive tie-break, securing a 9-8 (7-4) triumph to seal the tournament double.

The twin titles mark another major milestone on the American circuit for Terceira, underscoring her burgeoning credentials ahead of next month's Orange Bowl commitments.
