 Record Breaking Team IslandStats.com A 21-year-old national relay benchmark tumbled at the BASA Pool as Bermuda's leading swimmers produced a string of dominant displays at the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association Fall Meet.
The headline act arrived in the Men's 15 & Over 200m Short Course Medley Relay, where the quartet of Connor Hupman, Sam Williamson, Logan Jones, and Noah Maranzana combined to shatter a record that had stood since 2003.
Stopping the clock in an emphatic 1:46.01, the four eclipsed the previous standard of 1:48.17 set by Ronald Cowen, Graham Smith, Michael O'Connor, and Roy-Allan Burch at the 2003 Island Games.
In the individual events, Gabe Maranzana edged a thriller in the Men's 15 & Over 50m Freestyle, touching the wall in 24.70 seconds to pip brother Noah Maranzana who finished in 24.77 by just seven-hundredths of a second, with Noah Fulton taking third in 27.90.
Madelyn Moore stamped her class on the Women's 15 & Over 50m Freestyle, storming to a comfortable victory in 26.36 ahead of Lila Connolly in second with a time of 30.85 and Violet Smith was clocked at 31.52 for third place.
Sam Williamson backed up his relay exploits with a commanding solo win in the Men's 15 & Over 200m Freestyle, posting a swift 1:55.94 to finish well clear of Gianluca Bortoli who was clocked in second at 2:13.88 and Noah Fulton who touched the wall in a time of 2:15.74 in third place.
Noah Fulton made amends in the Men's 15 & Over 100m Individual Medley, securing victory in 1:09.85, followed by Gianluca Bortoli in second clocking 1:12.83 and Thomas Twilley finished third in a time of 1:17.93.
Girls 13–14 100m Breaststroke: Evelyn Fahy led the field in 1:31.56, with Fallon Woolley touching second in 1:40.01.
Women's 15 & Over 100m Breaststroke: Katherine Wheddon took top honours with a confident 1:21.76, finishing ahead of Ellis Champion who was clocked at 1:47.29.
