Thomas Cechini endured a demanding afternoon in Annapolis as Loyola University Maryland took on powerhouse competition against LSU and hosts the US Naval Academy.
The Greyhounds made the short journey to the Naval Academy Aquatics Club for a high-calibre triangle meet, with Cechini featuring prominently across both individual and relay programmes.
The standout individual test arrived in the Men's 200-yard Freestyle, where Cechini came home in eighth place after touching the wall in 1:42.17 amid fierce competition from strong Navy and Louisiana State fields.
Cechini was also deployed heavily across Loyola’s relay efforts, proving a dependable asset at both ends of the slate.
He handled lead-off duties for the Greyhounds' 200-yard Freestyle Relay 'B' quartet, setting the tone as the unit recorded a collective 1:24.33 to take sixth place.
Rounding off his programme, Cechini anchored the Men's 200-yard Medley Relay 'D' team home to an eighth-place finish, stopping the clock at 1:33.65.
While Navy made home advantage tell across the session, the meeting served as an exacting benchmark for Loyola against elite collegiate opposition as their campaign gathers pace.
