Competitors returned to the East End circuit keen to establish an early benchmark, and several drivers wasted little time laying down a marker for the campaign ahead by completing immaculate hat-tricks across their respective heats.
Nathan DeCosta set the standard in the TAG Senior class, delivering a clinical performance to seize victory in all three heats. His composure through traffic and sustained race pace left his rivals searching for answers on an afternoon where track conditions demanded absolute precision.
The junior categories proved equally decisive. Tanner Correia mounted an imperious display in the TAG Juniors, dictating the tempo from the front to bag three straight wins. In the Cadet division, Mason Sousa mirrored that authority, showcasing sharp racecraft to secure a clean sweep of victories and establish an immediate advantage in the youth standings.
Experience came to the fore in the four-stroke machinery, where seasoned competitor Jason North was in peerless form among the L206 Seniors. North executed three calculated drives to sweep his division, keeping potential challengers at bay with consistent lap times across each contest.
The premier shifter classes brought fierce high-speed action to the tarmac. Ryan Rebello stamped his authority on the KZ Shifter category, steering clear of any early-season gremlins to take maximum points courtesy of a flawless trio of race triumphs.
The KZ Masters offered the day's only split honours, staging a gripping duel between Rian Lindo and Jason DeCouto. Lindo held the upper hand through the initial stages, claiming victory in the opening two heats with assured drives under pressure. However, DeCouto struck back in the final outing, producing a determined performance to deny his rival a sweep and capture the remaining chequered flag.
With the first round in the books, the series moves forward with setting the title pace firmly established across the board, promising an intense winter of competitive racing ahead.
