The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association (BMRA) has launched a nationwide hunt for the island’s next generation of motorsport talent, staging an open Youth Rider Trial Camp this Saturday at the Bermuda Motorsports Park in St David's.
Open to boys and girls aged eight to 14, the four-hour session—running from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM—offers aspiring racers an official gateway into organized track competition.
Participants will get hands-on experience aboard the purpose-built MIR GP110 race machine, taking on structured, controlled circuits designed to assess core fundamentals. Evaluators will closely monitor:
Riding ability and throttle discipline
Balance, body positioning, and machine control
Agility through tight technical sections
Track confidence and track awareness
Ability to take on technical coaching and follow safety instructions
The stakes are high for the young hopefuls on track: at the conclusion of the camp, six standout riders will be selected for coveted spots in the official BMRA Youth Development Programme.
The sole prerequisite for entry is that riders must already be competent and confident on either a standard pedal bicycle or an electric bike.
Alongside the talent identification trials, the BMRA is actively exploring the addition of a dedicated e-bike category to its developmental ranks.

Correct machine dynamics, handling, and cornering technique
Safe and responsible road habits transferable to street riding
