Thomas College Hit Nine in Ruthless Rout of Central Maine

IslandStats.com
Bermudian trio Tre Burgess, Justin Sukdeo, and Adio DeShield-Tankard featured prominently as Thomas College produced a ruthless attacking display to dismantle Central Maine Community College 9-1 at the Turf Athletic Complex.

The Terriers set an uncompromising tempo from the opening whistle, striking twice within the first five minutes to overwhelm a youthful Mustangs defensive unit and establish an unassailable 6-0 lead by the interval.

Bermuda midfielder DeShield-Tankard made his mark on the scoresheet just before the break, while Burgess and Sukdeo played crucial roles in controlling tempo and anchoring the dominant display across the pitch.

Thomas College seized command from the outset behind forward Brewer Osteen, who turned home two crosses inside five minutes—including a precise assist from former USCAA Player of the Year Jeremiah Gomez.

The pressure remained relentless:

Ivarsson Double (20', 26'): David Ivarsson struck twice in a six-minute span to stretch the margin to four.

Hodgins Spot-Kick (35'): Andrew Hodgins stepped up to calmly slot home from the penalty spot.

DeShield-Tankard Strikes (43'): DeShield-Tankard capped the first-half demolition, finishing sharply two minutes before the break to send the Terriers into half-time with a six-goal cushion.

Despite a half-time response urged by CMCC head coach Dalton Wing, Central Maine's back line was breached again when Gomez forced a turnover in the 52nd minute to set up Zayin Clugh. Five minutes later, Osteen sealed his hat-trick with a well-directed header.

The Mustangs managed a moment of quality in the 65th minute when sophomore captain Daniel Semple opened his account for the season, latching onto a Matthew Greco pass to lash a left-footed strike past the fingertips of Terriers goalkeeper Max Mulvey.

Lewiston native Daud Abdi completed the scoring in the 89th minute, while Mustangs debutant goalkeeper Wyatt Blier prevented further damage with eight saves on the night, including fine stops to deny Hodgins and DeShield-Tankard in the closing stages.
