Competing in Round 7 of the championship in Mooresville, Correia saw off a 24-strong field of elite national and club-level racers to seal an impressive victory in the United States.
Correia made his intent clear from the outset, laying down a marker by setting the fastest lap time during free practice.
After subtle chassis adjustments resulted in a seventh-place qualifying finish, father and mechanic Philip Correia opted to revert to their original baseline setup ahead of the heats.
