Harvey’s Reach A Finals as Bermudian Trio Open Pan Pacific
Jack Harvey led the charge for Bermuda’s trio of elite swimmers on the opening day of the 2026 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Irvine, California, securing a spot in the Championship A Final of the Men’s 100m Backstroke.

In a blistering preliminary session at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, Jack Harvey delivered a standout performance, touching the wall in 54.51 seconds. His sharp swim earned him ninth place overall and sealed his progression directly into the main event.

The opening morning also saw strong displays in the Women’s 50m Butterfly, where Emma Harvey and Madelyn Moore both made their mark.

Emma Harvey clocked a swift 26.91 to finish 15th overall, successfully advancing to the evening’s B Final. Teammate Madelyn Moore finished just two spots behind in 17th place with a time of 28.27, positioning her as first reserve for the consolation final.

Emma Harvey was back in the pool shortly after for the Women’s 100m Backstroke, recording a time of 1:03.13 to finish 28th overall in a heavily stacked field.

With finals action set for the evening session, the Bermudian contingent will look to build on their promising start as the multi-day international championship unfolds.
