Cheng-Hsien Ning and Bruce DeGrilla Jr. laid down a massive marker for the season ahead, both recording perfect clean sweeps as the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association (BMRA) officially launched its championship points campaign.
Following the frustration of a completely washed-out Race Day 4 due to heavy rain, competitors returned to a bustling Bermuda Motorsports Park for Race Day 5, eager to finally open their accounts under the 2026 scoring system.
With three races contested per class, and maximum points awarded on a sliding scale of 25-20-16-13-11-10-9, every single corner counted.
There was simply no stopping Cheng-Hsien Ning in the highly competitive Street/Scooter division. Ning put on a masterclass of defensive riding and outright pace, taking the chequered flag in all three races to bank a maximum haul of 75 points and claim the early championship lead.
Reigning expert Jesston Thomas proved to be Ning’s closest challenger on the day. Thomas showcased superb consistency of his own, shadowing the leader to finish second in every single outing for a commendable 60-point total.
Behind the front two, Carter Burgess recovered from a slow start. After crossing the line fourth in Race 1, he secured back-to-back third-place finishes to secure 45 points, just ahead of Carlston Burgess (40 points).
