The Bermuda Golf Association was accepted into the Caribbean Golf Association recently as a full member. Their first participation as a full member will be at the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships being held in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic from June 28th – July 3rd 2026.
The BGA are sending five promising juniors to participate in this very prestigious tournament.
Sa-Qui Robinson, will compete in the Under 18 Division, Grayson Tavares will compete in the Under 15 Division with Lewis MacFarlane and Bradford Lanig who is the youngest competitor at age 10 and will be up against players in the Under 13 Division.
Darina Betschart who won the Girls 11 -13 Division last year, will move up an age bracket this year and has demonstrated a liking for the courses in the Dominican Republic.
All of these golfers have been impressive in the junior and senior tournaments this year. The team will be accompanied by Joanne MacFarlane and Tamara Betschart.
The tournament will be played at the Playa Doradae Golf Club. The team will participate in a practice round on Monday, June 29th and tournament play on Tuesday, June 30th through Thursday, July 2nd. The team returns to Bermuda on Friday, July 3rd.
