Despite losing the toss and being sent in to bat on a true North Field deck, Pembroke's premier batsmen feasted on the West Enders' bowling unit, posting a monumental total that left the Spartans with an insurmountable mountain to climb.
The afternoon belonged entirely to Erasmus. The marquee associate star played an innings for the ages, smashing a breathtaking 104. His sublime century anchored the entire front half of the contest, combining elegant timing with brute strength to clear the boundary ropes eight times alongside four additional boundaries.
The Spartans simply had no answers for the second-wicket partnership. Skipper Dominic Sabir matched his international teammate's intensity, bludgeoning an unbeaten 79 off just 49 deliveries.
