Bermudian Olympian Emma Harvey has continued her disciplined buildup toward a major summer of international competition with a series of sharp performances in Southern California.
Competing at the 2026 FAST Orange Committee April "BB Minimum" Long Course Meet, held at the renowned Janet Evans Swim Complex in Fullerton, Harvey utilised the event to fine-tune her technical execution across both backstroke and butterfly disciplines.
The 24-year-old opened her account in the Women’s 50m Backstroke, where she demonstrated her trademark explosive start to clock a time of 29.15 seconds. Harvey, who has been in record-breaking form since the turn of the year, followed up that performance with another authoritative display in the 100m Backstroke, touching the wall in 1:03.59.
Having already secured qualifying standards in six events for the upcoming international window, Harvey’s versatility was further underlined as she shifted focus to the butterfly. Closing out her meet in the 100m Butterfly, she recorded a clinical 1:02.47 to complete a productive weekend in the pool.
The Fullerton meet serves as a vital stepping stone for the UCLA standout, who has transitioned seamlessly from the American collegiate circuit to the long-course international stage. With her sights set on adding to her burgeoning medal tally later this season, Harvey’s consistent times in California suggest she remains firmly on track to challenge the region's elite.
Currently based in the United States for her high-performance training block, the Bermudian national record holder is expected to return to the island later soon for final domestic preparations before embarking on an intensive summer schedule.
