Keziah Martin in action IslandStats.com Bermuda’s overseas contingent experienced a night of contrasting fortunes as Quorn FC secured a cup final berth while Hereford FC and Chelmsford City suffered narrow league defeats.
The highlight of the midweek action came at Farley Way, where Zhandi Burgess and his Quorn FC teammates produced a dominant display to advance to the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA Cup final. The Reds swept aside Barwell FC with a clinical 3-0 semi-final victory, continuing their impressive form and securing a chance at silverware later this season.
It was a more frustrating evening at the MandM Edgar Street Stadium for Justin Donawa and Keziah Martin. Despite a spirited performance, Hereford FC fell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Spennymoor Town. The Bulls managed to pull a goal back late through Freddy Willcox, but the visitors held firm to condemn the hosts to their fourth consecutive defeat, leaving them four points adrift of safety in the National League North.
In the National League South, Kane Crichlow and Chelmsford City were involved in a high-scoring encounter at the Saunders Transport Community Stadium. While Crichlow featured as a second-half substitute, his side was unable to contain a potent Farnborough FC attack, eventually succumbing to a 4-2 loss. A first-half penalty from Lyle Taylor and a late Jack Barham strike were not enough to offset braces from Farnborough’s Hakeem Sandah and Courtney Senior.
Meanwhile, in the Isthmian League, Coleridge Fubler and Qur'an Raynor helped Binfield FC earn a hard-fought point in a goalless draw against Westfield. The stalemate at Hill Farm Lane proved to be a defensive masterclass, with both sides cancelling each other out in a result that keeps Binfield steady in the South Central Division standings.
