North & Horseman Master the Elements in Karting Championship

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Karting Association delivered a masterclass in high-stakes racing as thirty-nine competitors braved mixed conditions and overcast skies for the 2025-2026 Rubis Energy Karting Championship - Race Day #11. With the track surface shifting between dry and rain-slicked, the event at the Southside facility became a true test of adaptability, forcing teams into critical split-second decisions regarding tyre strategy.

The L206 class provided some of the most engrossing duels of the afternoon. Jason North asserted his authority early, dominating every lap of the opening heat to finish ahead of David Selley and Brian Bulhoes. The rivalry intensified in the second heat as North led for the majority of the race, only for Selley to produce a clinical late manoeuvre to snatch the victory. However, as the heavens opened for the third heat and the field switched to wet tyres, North regained his composure to claim his second win of the day, followed across the line by Justin Lindo and Selley.

In the Tag Senior division, Blake Horseman proved to be untouchable, delivering a perfect sweep of all three heats to cement his status as the man to beat. Nathan DeCosta showed remarkable consistency to secure two second-place finishes, while Ryan Burgess and John Carreiro Jr. both made appearances on the podium during a competitive day for the senior ranks.

The junior categories saw Tanner Correia emerge as the standout performer of the weekend. Correia enjoyed a double success, taking top honours in the Tag Junior class and following it up with a dominant sweep of the Cadet heats. In the Tag Junior field, he was pushed by Alondro Albouy and Jonathan Linberg, while Jacob Garrett and Miguel Cabral provided the primary challenge in the Cadet division.

The gearbox classes remained typically unpredictable. In KZ Master, William Dunkley secured two heat victories, though he was pushed all the way by Jason DeCouto, who claimed the remaining win. The standard KZ class proved to be the most dynamic of the afternoon, with three different winners across three heats. Ryan Burgess took the spoils in the first, Stephen Corrado triumphed in the second, and Horseman returned to the top step in the finale to cap off a day of intense tactical racing.

Despite the challenging weather, the depth of talent within Bermuda’s karting community was on full display as the championship battle continues to build significant momentum heading into the final rounds of the season.
