Sancho Smith produced a series of determined performances at the 2026 Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, helping Clayton State University to a fifth-place finish.
Competing at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center in Florida, Smith secured All-Conference honors as part of a podium-finishing relay quartet. In a high-stakes Men’s 4x400m Relay, Smith teamed up with Marcus Robinson, Drewmel Banks, and Davonte Jackson to clock a time of 3:20.07, claiming the bronze medal in the final event of the meet.
Earlier in the session, the senior showcased his versatility across multiple distances. In the Men’s 800m Run, Smith fought through a competitive field to finish seventh overall with a time of 1:55.40. He also played a key role in the Men’s 4000m Distance Medley Relay, where the squad secured fifth place in 10:49.02.
While Embry-Riddle ultimately claimed the men's team title, Clayton State’s fifth-place finish was bolstered by a string of personal and program records. Smith’s contributions in the middle-distance and relay events proved vital as Clayton matched their pre-season coaches' poll projection. With the indoor campaign concluding, the focus now shifts to the outdoor season, where Smith will look to build on his status as one of the region's premier middle-distance talents.
