The roar of engines returned to the Southside Moto Sports Park as the Bermuda Motocross Association hosted the high-octane second installment of its Triple Crown Race Series. While a slate of local celebrities took to the dirt in a special exhibition, it was the seasoned veterans and rising stars of the bi-weekly circuit who stole the spotlight with a display of technical precision and raw speed.
In the marquee Expert class, Allan DeGraff once again proved why he is the man to beat on the island circuit. DeGraff showcased a masterclass in control, navigating the demanding jumps and tight corners of the St. David's track to claim the overall victory. He was pushed throughout the afternoon by Preston Martin, who delivered a spirited challenge but ultimately had to settle for the runner-up spot in the day's premier division.
The veteran ranks provided some of the most consistent racing of the afternoon. In the Over 40 class, Lorenzo Burch emerged as the dominant force, fending off Ashley Simmons and Bobby Lambe, who finished second and third respectively. The lead group was rounded out by Jason Harrell and Judson Williams in a field that tested the endurance of the island’s more experienced riders. In the Over 30 class, Aaron Cannonier showcased his experience to secure the top step on the podium, finishing ahead of Lorenzo Burch and Dillon Carreiro, with Kenshae Mills-Wilson and Willem Vermeulen completing the top five.
The Novice class saw a breakthrough performance from Anyari Persad, who took the overall honors in a crowded field. Mikah Alves secured a hard-fought second place, followed by a busy A’jahni Foggo, while Deige Paynter and Messiah Levrock finished strongly to round out the lead pack. The future of the sport was equally impressive in the 85cc class, where A’jahni Foggo claimed the victory, topping the leaderboard ahead of Azai Burt and Mazaii Tucker.
In the junior divisions, high speeds and daring overtakes thrilled the gathered spectators. King Clarke was the class of the field in the 65cc division, beating out Cassidy Spencer-Furbert and Rome Dill, with King-zyahn Browne finishing fourth. The 50cc class was won by A’kyo Cannonier, who held off challenges from Ace Moniz and Diego Daniels.
Finally, the youngest riders of the day in the PeeWee class proved to be a major draw for the crowd. Diego Daniels displayed remarkable control to finish first in the group, leading Eli Philpott and Massiah Smith across the line, while Kailo Young and Jay'a Nesbitt-Rayner earned well-deserved spots in the top five of the grassroots category.
