Bermuda’s Rhys Insley and Sam Williamson, representing Harbour Swim Club, continued their exceptional form at the JP Fiset Invitational meet in Edmonton, Canada, securing Silver medals on their second day of competition and setting new personal bests.
Sam Williamson showcased his speed in the Men’s 100m Freestyle. In the preliminaries, he posted a Personal Best time of 53.29 seconds, which was fast enough to seed him in third place going into the 16 and over A Final.
In the final, Williamson found another gear, improving on his morning time to record a new Personal Best of 52.59 seconds. This strong performance saw him claim the Silver Medal in the event.
Rhys Insley delivered a strong showing in the longer distance Men’s 200m Breaststroke. His preliminary time of 2:26.30 placed him as the second seed heading into the 16 and over A Final.
In the final race, Insley demonstrated consistency and endurance, finishing with a new Personal Best time of 2:22.86. His efforts were rewarded with the Silver Medal, marking another successful outing for the Harbour Swim Club swimmer.
The pair’s medal haul comes just a day after both swimmers secured Gold medals in the 50m distances of the Butterfly and Breaststroke events.
