Kalen Brunson returned to action for QPR’s Under 21 side as they suffered their first defeat in this season's Premier League Cup, falling 3-1 on the road against Cardiff City Academy.
Brunson, a highly-rated Bermudian youth talent who signed a two-year scholarship with QPR in April 2025, came off the bench in the 72nd minute. The 16-year-old winger, known for his pace, skill, and ability to create chances, entered the fray as QPR looked to respond to their opponent’s dominance.
The defeat marks the first loss for QPR’s U21s in the Premier League Cup this season. Despite the loss, QPR U21s remained top of Group F after four games played.
The result will be a test of character for the young QPR squad as they look to bounce back in their next fixture.
