Harvey's Return with Commonwealth Qualifications

IslandStats.com
Siblings Emma and Jack Harvey have made a highly encouraging return to competitive swimming following extended breaks out of the pool, delivering record-breaking performances and securing multiple qualifying times for the Commonwealth Games at the 2025 Toyota U.S. Open Championships.

Competing in the highly competitive event featuring top American and International Olympic medalists, Emma Harvey wasted no time in making her mark.

On her first day of competition, Emma broke her own National Record in the 50-metre Freestyle. She clocked a time of 25.69 to finish 22nd, shaving one hundredth of a second off the 25.70 time she set at the same meet in 2023.

Emma progressed to the B Finals in two other events, finishing 16th in the 50-metre Butterfly with a time of 27.36, and 14th in the 50-metre Backstroke with a time of 29.03. Crucially, Emma achieved Commonwealth Games qualifying times in all five of her events.

Her brother, Jack Harvey, also enjoyed a successful return, progressing to the B Finals in both of his events.

In the 50-metre Backstroke, Jack clocked 25.72 to finish 17th. He followed that with a 15th-place finish in the 100-metre Backstroke, posting a time of 55.62. Like his sister, Jack also posted qualifying times for the Commonwealth Games.

The performance of both swimmers, who have only recently returned to full-time training, provides a very encouraging start to their new competitive season.
