Bermuda’s young swimmers, representing the Baylor Swimming Club, delivered a strong set of performances at the 2025 NAC Timedrop Music City Invite in Nashville, competing successfully against top US age-group swimmers and underscoring the island’s growing depth in the sport.
The team’s standout performance came from Gabriel Maranzana in the 13–14 Age Group. Maranzana won the B Final of the 200-yard Freestyle, clocking 1:48.66, and went on to capture the A Final title in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 22.44. He also secured a second-place finish in the A Final of the 100-yard Freestyle, touching the wall in 49.17.
Katherine Wheddon reached a championship final, advancing to the B Final of the 100-yard Freestyle where she placed 8th in 55.12. Wheddon added strong results in the 200-yard Freestyle, 200-yard Individual Medley, 500-yard Freestyle, and 100-yard Backstroke.
Violet Smith reached the C Final in the 200-yard Backstroke, finishing 8th in 2:11.04 following a Personal Best time in preliminaries. Smith added solid swims in the 200-yard Freestyle, 50-yard Freestyle, 50-yard Backstroke, and 100-yard Backstroke.
Maggie Mewett placed 8th in the C Final of the 50-yard Freestyle, matching her 25.11 preliminary time. She also had great swims in the 100-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Butterfly.
Returning from shoulder surgery, Noah Maranzana made a great comeback, finishing 6th in the C Final of the 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 49.05. He also posted competitive times in the 200 and 50-yard Freestyle events.
The team’s multiple finalists and podium finishes in a highly competitive US age-group field underscored Bermuda’s growing depth in swimming.
