The Bermuda Motocross Association hosted their annual Memorial Day Trophy Race at the Southside Moto Sports Park, marking the start of a three-race series that also includes the Boxing Day and New Year's Day fixtures. The day began with a solemn and respectful Remembrance Day lap, honouring all those who have passed away.
The competition was fierce across all divisions, featuring the added element of two visiting riders from Canada.
Canadian rider Dylan Graham made an immediate impact, dominating the Novice class to claim first place. He finished ahead of the local podium contenders Mikah Alves and A'jahni Foggo, who managed a third-place finish alongside his 85cc victory earlier in the day.
In the younger classes, Eli Philpott rode strongly to win the PeeWee division, leading Massiah Smith and Diego Daniels. A'kyo Cannonier secured the top spot in the 50cc class, ahead of Ace Moniz and Ade Stovell. In the 65cc category, Cassidy Spencer-Furbert claimed first place, followed by King Clarke and Rome Dill. A'jahni Foggo delivered a decisive win in the 85cc class, with Azai Burt and Jaylon Glasford rounding out the podium.
The senior divisions saw close racing: Aaron Cannonier won the Over 30 class, followed by Lorenzo Burch and Daquan Burgess. The Over 40 division was claimed by Ronald Trott, who edged out Ben Zoeller and Le-troy Trott.
The elite Expert class was a thrilling contest, with Allan Degraff taking first place, ahead of Zico Majors. The second Canadian rider, Seth Hughes, secured a notable third-place finish, just ahead of Preston Martin and Aiden Simmons. The successful event sets a high standard for the remainder of the Memorial Day series.
