FC Bascome Blue were crowned the Bermuda Football Association Gregory Grimes Under 13 champions after securing a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Somerset Trojans in a hard-fought final at the Somerset Cricket Club.
The final was a captivating, end-to-end affair that saw the lead change hands and the scores drawn twice before a decisive winner was found.
Mackay Browne opened the scoring for FC Bascome Blue, giving his side the early advantage. However, the Somerset Trojans responded quickly, with Ryan Tavarrez finding the back of the net to level the match.
Browne proved to be a constant threat, scoring his second goal of the game to restore the lead for FC Bascome Blue. Yet again, the resilient Somerset Trojans fought back, with Asa Trew-Smith scoring to draw the game level at 2-2 and set up a nervous final period.
The crucial, title-winning goal eventually came from Quinn Farnsworth, who found the back of the net to score what proved to be the winner for FC Bascome Blue, securing the championship trophy with a final score of 3-2.
The outstanding contributions of the star players were recognized after the final whistle, with Mackay Browne named MVP for FC Bascome Blue and Asa Trew-Smith earning the MVP award for the Somerset Trojans.
