Close Finishes Define Thrilling Karting Championship Round

The Bermuda Karting Association delivered a day of high-octane action at the The Bermuda Karting Association 2025-2026 Rubis Energy Karting Championship - Race Day #3, featuring razor-thin margins and impressive displays of driving skill across all classes.

The event, which saw three heats contested, provided an early indicator of who will be challenging for the title this season.

The L206 class was decided by fractions of a second. Heat 1 saw a late charge from Jason North, who snatched the victory from Owen DeCosta on the final lap after DeCosta had led the majority of the race.

Heat 2 featured a tight battle at the front, with North, DeCosta, David Barbosa, and Robert Wheatley locked in a close pack. The most thrilling action of the day came in Heat 3, where North and a fierce competitor crossed the finish line separated by a mere 0.021 seconds.

The Tag Senior division was dominated by Ryan Burgess, who claimed three straight wins. Other top finishers included Nathan DeCosta and Blake Horseman, who consistently traded podium spots. Jorja Thomas and Jonah Moniz rounded out a competitive top five.

In the Tag Junior category, Tanner Correia and Alondro Albouy secured the first and second overall positions, respectively. The fight for third was hotly contested, with Jonathan Linberg and Syah Pedro battling closely until the end. All drivers ended with a respectful touch, showcasing excellent sportsmanship.

The combined Shifter classes, featuring 12 high-speed karts, produced thrilling battles throughout the day.

KZ: Blake Horseman led the charge in Heat 1, closely followed by Ryan Burgess and Ryan Rebello. Heat 2 saw Burgess and Horseman locked in a tight duel. The final heat ended with Burgess, Stephen Corrado, and Horseman finishing in an intense, tight pack.
KZ Masters: The podium shifted completely in each race, highlighting the class’s fierce competitiveness. Rian Lindo claimed the win in Heat 1, Jason DeCouto took Heat 2, and Philip Correia triumphed in Heat 3.


Strong performances from the club’s youngest racers, including Tanner Correia, Jacob Garrett, and Leo Serrano, impressed onlookers and hinted at the emergence of future stars in the sport.
