 Sebastian Kempe IslandStats.com Adriana Penruddocke and Sebastian Kempe delivered strong performances at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy Regatta, securing impressive top-20 and podium finishes against competitive international fields.
The event, which saw six races held across both the ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 fleets, was a major test for the Bermudian competitors.
In the ILCA 7 Fleet, Sebastian Kempe sailed to a brilliant podium finish, placing 3rd out of 44 sailors. Kempe finished the regatta with a strong Net Points score of 24.
The young Bermudian showed exceptional consistency, finishing in the top five in four of the six races, including two third-place finishes. Great Britain’s Finley Dickinson was crowned the fleet champion with 11 Net Points.
In the larger ILCA 6 Fleet, Adriana Penruddocke secured a highly respectable 18th place overall out of 83 competitors, tallying a Net Points score of 101.
Penruddocke's best result of the regatta came in the fifth race, where she finished an excellent second. Ireland's Eve McMahon was the dominant fleet champion, finishing well clear of the field with a Net Points score of 14.
