Bermuda’s golf teams maintained their strong position on the leaderboard at the Caribbean Golf Association (CGA) 4-Ball Championship in Jamaica, highlighted by a dominant performance from Tracy Burgess and Ann Symonds.
The pair in the Ladies 45+ Division shot a superb round of 1-under par 71 at Cinnamon Hill Golf Course to move to Even Par overall. That exceptional score gives them a commanding six-stroke lead heading into the third and final round. Jamaica is their closest rival at 6-over par, while Trinidad & Tobago trails in third at 30-over.
In the most senior category, the Men’s 70+ Division, Quinton Sherlock Sr and Hav Trott also claimed a significant lead. A solid second round of 2-under par 70 sees them lead the Bahamas and Jamaica B by two strokes.
The Seniors Division remains highly competitive, with Mark Ray and Roger Brangman firmly in the mix. They are tied for third place at 1-over par alongside Trinidad & Tobago. Jamaica shot an impressive 7-under round to seize the lead at 8-under par, with Barbados in second at 5-under.
Bermuda's Morgan Lightbourne and Sarah Dwyer held their ground in the Ladies 25+ Division, remaining in third place at 19-over par, chasing joint leaders Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago at 8-over par.
In the Mid Amateurs, Richard Marriott and Jonathan James posted a 2-over par 74, but found themselves slipping to seventh place at 10-over par due to a blistering pace set by the leaders. Trinidad & Tobago extended their advantage with a stunning performance to sit at 8-under par overall.
