Tough Finish Doesn't Detract from Cumbermack's Season

The final round of the R&G British Talent Cup in the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Class did not deliver the fairy-tale ending Jediah Cumbermack might have hoped for, but the Bermudian racer still showcased his talent across a tricky weekend.

While the season's close was perhaps frustrating, Cumbermack secured a highly creditable performance, particularly in qualifying, demonstrating his adaptability in adverse conditions.

Cumbermack's weekend started strongly, battling against changeable weather conditions. A wet practice session required the young rider to quickly adapt to the reduced grip levels on the track, a challenge he met with success.

This adaptability carried through to qualifying, where Cumbermack put in an excellent effort to secure 6th place on the starting grid. This was a significant achievement in what were described as "very tricky conditions."

The main race proved to be a test of resilience after a challenging start. Cumbermack lost ground early on, dropping four positions down the order.

"I didn't get the start I wanted," Cumbermack will have undoubtedly felt, but he quickly settled into a determined rhythm. Over the following laps, he steadily regained his pace and began picking off riders one by one.

He managed to work his way back up through the field, eventually fighting to regain his starting spot, crossing the line in 6th place. The next position, 5th, was momentarily within his sights on the final lap, but he simply ran out of time to execute the final pass.

Reflecting on the entire season, Cumbermack extended his appreciation: “I want to thank all my sponsors and my mom for helping me throughout the race season.”

Despite the lack of a podium finish in the last race, Cumbermack's pace and ability to qualify well underline a promising season of growth and competitive racing in the challenging British Superteen Class.
