Sailor Sophia Dias and her Tulane Green Wave teammates finished in 12th place overall at the Stu Nelson Trophy regatta, hosted by Connecticut College in New London.
Tulane finished in the lower half of the 17-team field with a total score of 207 across three divisions after seven rotations of racing.
The team's best performance came from the B division, where Skipper Lola Kohl and crew Sabrina Casagrande placed sixth, securing 52 points for the Green Wave.
However, in the A and C Divisions, Tulane struggled to keep pace, with both teams finishing in 13th place among the 17 competitors in the regatta. Skipper Dias, teamed with crew Elizabeth Struve for six races, contributed 76 total points in the C Division. The A Division team, skippered by Oakley Cunningham, finished with 79 points.
The result is a minor setback for the Tulane team, but the tough competition provides valuable experience as they continue their fall collegiate sailing schedule.
