The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) Premier and First Division seasons are now fully underway, and the league tables are beginning to take shape, highlighted by a massive goal tally in the lower division and a tight race at the top of the Premier League.
Premier Division: X-Road’s Seize Early Lead
After two rounds of action, the Premier Division sees a three-way race for the top spot, decided only by goal difference.
X-Road’s currently lead the league with a perfect six points and a goal difference of plus four (+4), placing them just ahead of the Dandy Town Hornets, who also have six points but sit at plus two (+2). The St. George’s Colts hold a close third place on goal difference.
The top of the scoring chart is also highly contested in the Premier Division:
David Jones (Dandy Town Hornets) is the early leader with 3 goals.
Zeiko Lewis (Young Men Social Club), Samuel McKittrick (X-Road’s), and Donovan Thompson (X-Road’s) all sit close behind with 2 goals each.
First Division: Rangers Power to the Top
The First Division standings are heavily influenced by a massive opening day result, putting the Southampton Rangers in pole position.
The Rangers are the clear league leaders on goal difference after their stunning 15-0 victory over Hamilton Parish. They sit ahead of Robin Hood, the Somerset Trojans, and the Somerset Eagles, who all secured maximum points on the opening weekend.
The early Golden Boot race saw an incredible double-punch from two different players:
Keishen Bean (Robin Hood) scored five goals on Friday night. Sijay Samuels (Southampton Rangers) immediately matched that feat, netting five goals on Sunday.
Ellington Weldon (Southampton Rangers) also made a strong contribution, adding four goals to his team's massive tally.
