Hurricanes 1 Swizzles 2
Two days after suffering a crushing defeat to the Hurricanes, the Swizzles secured dramatic revenge, coming from a goal down to edge their rivals 2-1 in a tightly contested Bermuda Field Hockey Federation match at the National Sports Center.
The Hurricanes looked set to continue their momentum from the previous victory, taking an early lead in the 4th minute when Louis Manning scored a field goal. The Hurricanes maintained that slender 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The second half, however, saw a determined Swizzles side wrestle back control. They drew level in the 36th minute when Heather Sinclair found the net with a field goal to tie the score at 1-1.
The winning moment arrived in the 45th minute. The Swizzles earned a crucial penalty corner, and Jack Finlay stepped up to convert the shot, securing the 2-1 lead and ultimately the hard-fought victory.
The win levels the score between the two rivals and demonstrates the Swizzles' resilience in overcoming an early deficit against a Hurricanes side they had just lost to.
