Golf: Local Hopes Renewed as Butterfield Bermuda Championship Qualifier Confirms Tee Times
The pursuit of a PGA TOUR berth is set to intensify next week as the Butterfield Bermuda Championship Local Qualifier presented by Brit Re gets underway at the Port Royal Golf Course on Tuesday, October 7th, and Wednesday, October 8th.
The 36-hole competition offers Bermudian golfers a golden opportunity to claim one of three coveted exemption spots into Bermuda's flagship PGA TOUR event, the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, scheduled for November 13-16, 2025.
The Bermuda Golf Association (BGA) and tournament officials have released the First Round Tee Times, highlighting a field packed with familiar names eager to compete on the world stage.
One of the most decorated local professionals in qualifying, Michael Sims, will look to get back on the big stage, teeing off at 7:30 am on Tuesday.
The 8:00 am threesome features three veterans who have previously battled their way into the main event: Eric West, Daniel Augustus, and Dwayne Pearman will all tackle the challenging course, aiming for another shot at the PGA TOUR field.
Other notable names competing for another spot include: Anthony Phipps, Camiko Smith, Chaka DeSilva, Damian Palanyandi, Jarryd Dillas, Kenneth Leseur, and Nick Jones.
The tournament is open exclusively to eligible Bermudian professionals and amateurs, ensuring the three spots will be fiercely contested over the two days. The competition promises high-stakes drama on the renowned Port Royal links.
