The McDaniel College men's golf team was unable to hold on to their commanding first-round lead, ultimately finishing in third place at the Northeast Elite tournament at Williamsport Country Club, in a fiercely contested finish that saw just three strokes separate the top three teams.
McDaniel, who led the tournament after Day One with a superb 1-under par 283, finished with a final team total of 580.
The winners were Rochester, who used a phenomenal final round surge to claim top team honours with a total of 577. Gettysburg finished narrowly ahead of McDaniel to take second place with a score of 578. The top of the Centennial Conference was well represented, with Dickinson finishing a distant fourth, 15 strokes behind McDaniel.
Freshman Dylan Muso concluded his second career 36-hole event with another respectable performance. Playing as an individual, Muso finished 18th overall on the player leaderboard with a final score of 147, posting a second-round 77 after his career-best opening round of 70.
