Bermudian sailors Pj Rodrigues and Jordan Vieira spearheaded the Eckerd College Tritons’ challenge at the 2025 Danmark Trophy Cross Regional Regatta, where the team finished 16th overall among 20 competitive university teams.
The two-day regatta saw the sailors compete in 11 races across two separate divisions, A and B.
Vieira delivered the most impressive individual performance for Eckerd, competing in the B Class boat. Vieira’s exceptional sailing secured a top-ten finish in his division, placing 9th overall with 112 points. A major highlight of his regatta was winning the first B Division race, a fantastic start that showcased his speed against a formidable fleet.
In the A Class boat, Rodrigues finished the regatta in 18th place with 146 points. Rodrigues showed flashes of brilliance, recording his best individual finish in one of the 11 races by securing a 5th place spot.
Despite the highly competitive nature of the field—which featured top sailing universities from across the country—the Bermudian duo’s performance provided valuable experience. Vieira’s top-ten divisional finish and race win underscore his continued development as one of Eckerd’s most promising sailors.
