The Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association's 2025/26 season is officially underway, with the Open Water Bermuda National Championships taking place at Clearwater Beach. Swimmers across all age groups and distances battled for national titles in a new season opener.
In the longest event of the day, Craig Munden was crowned the male 5K champion, clocking a winning time of 1:10:25. On the women's side, Jorgia White impressed by finishing fifth overall to claim the female 5K title with a time of 1:18:50.
The 1500m distance saw a victory for sixteen-year-old Jackson Langley, who was crowned the male national champion with a time of 24:02. Isla Cooze, aged fourteen, claimed the female national title after finishing sixth overall with a time of 25:57.
In the 400m race, Madeleine Friend recorded the fastest time of 7:08 to be crowned the female national champion. Niklas Bock was the first male finisher, coming in third overall with a time of 7:37 to claim the male national championship.
