Cabral & NSU Rout Holy Family in Statement Victory

IslandStats.com
Emily Cabral and her Nova Southeastern University (NSU) women's soccer teammates earned a statement victory on opening night, routing Holy Family University 7-1 at the NSU Soccer Stadium. The win, a perfect start to their season, was the most goals scored in coach Amy Vaughan's tenure.

The Sharks came out firing on all cylinders, with Alexa Bereczki, the reigning SSC Freshman of the Year, scoring two goals to begin the 2025 campaign. She was joined on the scoresheet by Lova Korpas and Liwa Nilsson, who each recorded a goal and an assist. Ginger Schulz added two assists for the Sharks, underscoring their offensive dominance.

For Bermudian Cabral, the match was a significant milestone. She returned to the pitch and played about 20 minutes after a year off through injury, a promising sign for her comeback season with the team.

The seven goals are the most scored in coach Amy Vaughan's tenure and the second-most scored in a home match, signaling a very strong start to the campaign for the Nova Southeastern Sharks.
