Trina Roberts, the Secretary General of the National Archery Association of Bermuda, has been elected to the prestigious World Archery Ethics and Justice Committee, a significant appointment that places a Bermudian in a key governance role on the global stage.
The election took place at the 56th World Archery Congress in Gwangju, South Korea. The five-member committee is responsible for upholding the integrity of the sport, ensuring all individuals, member associations, and officials adhere to World Archery's Constitution, Rules, and Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Upon her election, Roberts expressed her honour at being able to represent her country and the sport she is so passionate about. "I am honoured to be here representing my country and a sport I have grown to love and enjoy teaching," she said.
The committee considers cases, collects evidence, and can propose sanctions, making it a crucial body for the fair and ethical administration of archery. Roberts' appointment is a testament to her dedication to the sport, both in Bermuda and internationally, and marks a proud moment for the National Archery Association of Bermuda.
