The 2025 Americas Triathlon CARIFTA Championships in Trinidad and Tobago was a resounding success, with Bermuda dominating the competition and being crowned the overall champions. The event showcased not only top-tier racing but also the power of grassroots development, with new nations joining and World Triathlon points being awarded for the first time.
The championship is cementing its role as a key launchpad for the region's young athletes, a sentiment echoed by World Triathlon President Antonio F Arimany. "I am very pleased to see the CARIFTA Triathlon Championships recognized by World Triathlon and the Americas Triathlon," he said. "The future is here."
Trinidad and Tobago's former NF President and Americas Triathlon Vice-President Karen Araujo reflected on the significance of the weekend. "Having a Regional Championships be part of CARIFTA for the 16- to 21-year-old age group, held in Trinidad and Tobago, was truly a proud moment for me," she said.
In the final country rankings, Bermuda finished well ahead of the field to claim the top spot. Barbados secured second place, followed by Aruba in third, and the host nation, Trinidad and Tobago, proudly finished fourth.
