Bermuda's junior triathletes have delivered a sensational performance at the 2025 Carifta Triathlon Championships in Trinidad and Tobago, with a slew of podium finishes across multiple divisions, including a clean sweep in the girls' 11-12 category.
The Bermudian team was led by a pair of exceptional Gold Medals. Rory Shepard claimed top spot in the MALE 13-15 Division, completing the 375m Swim, 10Km Bike, and 2.5Km Run course in a time of 33:16. Shepard overcame a fifth-place finish in the swim with a blistering bike segment and a strong run to clinch the gold. The Bermudian podium success continued in the same division with Eiselt securing the silver medal with a time of 33:43. Other notable performances came from Sanchez Smith (5th), Jasper Lau (7th), Rohan Roopra (9th), Ethan Smith (10th), and Spencer Haldeman (15th).
In a truly dominant display, Bermuda's athletes swept the podium in the FEMALE 11-12 Division. Naomi MacGuinness won the Gold with a time of 19:30, followed by Colette Durkin who claimed the Silver Medal in 21:36, and Iris Duda who took the Bronze with a time of 21:49.
The medal haul continued in the FEMALE 13-15 Division, where Riana Robinson powered her way to a Bronze Medal, clocking a time of 39:14. Her teammates also performed strongly, with Sofia Leclerc (5th), Madison Schindel (6th), Zara Bule (7th), Isla Cooze (9th), and Elena Bortoli (11th) all finishing in the top half of the field.
In the MALE 16-19 & 20-21 Division, Jackson Langley posted a fantastic time of 1:08:58 to finish 5th overall, recording the fastest bike time of the day. Gialica Bortoli finished 12th in a time of 1:10:19, and Jake Smith was 19th. The women's race saw Carina Bortoli finish 6th with a time of 1:30:20, and Ella Shepard 7th with a time of 1:32:50.
The competition also saw solid efforts from the MALE 11-12 Division with Maxwell Williams finishing 10th and Aidan Taylor 19th.
