Maxwell Curtis, a new owner of the legendary Comet Class sailing boat Kitty Hawk, is preparing to compete at the Comet Internationals in New Jersey, carrying on a long tradition of Bermudian excellence. The historic vessel, sailed to glory by legends like Alton Millett and Stephen Dickinson, will be back on the international stage.
The 2025 Comet Internationals will be hosted by the Shrewsbury Sailing & Yacht Club in Oceanport, New Jersey, from August 28th to 30th. Four Bermuda boats are expected to take part in the highly-anticipated event.
Curtis will have an experienced crew in the boat with him, as Wesley Tucker is set to serve as his crew. Tucker brings a wealth of experience, having previously won the Comet Internationals in Kitty Hawk with Stephen Dickinson.
The duo's partnership marks a new chapter for the fabled boat and underscores Bermuda's enduring presence in the world of competitive sailing.
