Nayan Grant provided a crucial assist to help his Gillingham FC Academy Under-18 teammates to a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Forest Green at Beechings Cross.
Gillingham went up 1-0 after 34 minutes, and just two minutes later, Grant was at the heart of the action. The young Bermudian raced past his defender on the right wing before delivering a precise cross to the back post. Striker Stan Sargent was on hand to head the ball home, doubling the advantage.
Gillingham held a comfortable 2-0 lead over Forest Green at the break. While the visitors pulled a goal back early in the second half, the Gills quickly responded with two more goals of their own to secure the 4-1 final scoreline.
