Andrew Armstrong and his University of Dayton men's soccer teammates started its Atlantic 10 Conference season in winning fashion, defeating Saint Joseph's 3-1 at Baujan Field.
Three different Dayton players found the back of the net in the victory, including senior Ethan Sassine, who netted his team-high fourth goal of the season.
With Dayton holding a narrow 2-1 lead in the second half, the crucial third goal came in the 54th minute. Armstrong registered the assist, setting up Martin Bakken for the goal that sealed the win for the Flyers.
The result sees Dayton improve their record to 2-1-3 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play, while Saint Joseph's now stands at 2-2-1 with an 0-1-0 conference record.
