Logan Jiménez and his Hibs Development Squad teammates were on the wrong end of a narrow 1-0 defeat to William Hill League Two side Forfar Athletic in their KDM Evolution Trophy League match.
The youthful Hibs team, managed by Darren McGregor, performed well in their first league phase fixture of the new campaign at a sun-kissed Station Park. McGregor named a strong team, which included Cooperation System loanees Dean Cleland, Owen Calder and Jamie McMurdo, all of whom were eligible to play for their parent club in the competition.
However, it was Forfar who would find the breakthrough. Jamie Richardson proved to be the difference-maker, grabbing the only goal of the game. Despite the result, the performance of the young Hibs side offers promise for the remainder of their campaign.
