Needham Market, with Reggie Lambe, began their season with a heavy 4-0 defeat to Harborough Town. Milan Butterfield and Willie Clemons went head-to-head as their Halesowen Town and Leiston teams played out a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

Justin Donawa was an unused substitute as his Brackley Town side edged Eastleigh 1-0 in their National League opener. Roger Lee's Heanor Town drew 2-2 against Melton Town, while Aunde Todd’s Binfield FC lost 4-1 to Horndean.
Brighton Morrison, who recently signed for Windsor and Eton, came off the bench to help his new team to a 1-0 victory over Ardley United. Finally, Ayleal Dill and Southwell City FC began their season with a solid 2-0 win over West Bridgford.
