Cyclist Kaden Hopkins has continued his steady progress at the 74th Tour Cycliste International de la Guadeloupe, moving up the general classification after a demanding Stage 8.
The 142km stage, which began in Vieux-Habitants and concluded in Baillif, was won by Camilo Andrés, who is also the overall race leader. The Colombian clocked a winning time of 4:03:33.
Riding for Uni Sport Lamentinois, Hopkins crossed the line in 17th place with a time of 4:11:40, finishing 8 minutes and 7 seconds behind the stage winner.
The result moves Hopkins up seven spots to 22nd overall in the Grand Championship. He now has a combined time of 29:26:18, sitting 37 minutes and 30 seconds behind the overall leader, Camilo Andrés. The team will now look ahead to the final stages of the race.
