In an exciting evening on the water, Scatteraction clinched their third consecutive victory in the Wednesday Night Sailing series, reaffirming their dominance on Race Day 17.
The race, which saw boats leave Hamilton Harbour and head out into the Great Sound before returning, was a tactical battle. "Crossfire" was the first boat to physically cross the finish line with an elapsed time of 57:12. However, after the handicaps were applied, their corrected time of 1:03:05 placed them in third for the night.
"Nasty Medicine" was the next to finish, clocking an elapsed time of 58:44. Their corrected time of 1:04:25 saw them finish in sixth place.
"Scatteraction", despite an elapsed time of 1:06:01, proved that corrected time is what truly matters in this series. Their superior corrected time of 1:02:29 secured them the top spot on the podium.
The battle for the remaining top places was fiercely contested. "Passion" claimed a strong second place with a corrected time of 1:02:55. "Back in Black" was declared fourth with a corrected time of 1:03:21, and "Airforce" rounded out the top five with a corrected time of 1:03:55.
