Kaden Hopkins has delivered a resilient performance in Stage Three of the Tour de la Guadeloupe, bouncing back from a difficult previous stage with a top-10 finish.
Riding for Uni Sport Lamentinois, Hopkins competed in the 146.0 km race from Baie-Mahault to Deshaies. He crossed the line in an impressive 6th place, clocking a time of 3:19:11. This placed him just eight seconds behind the stage winner, Philipp Freyer, who finished in 3:19:03.
Hopkins had problems with a replacement wheel, he got one off neutral support, but still was challenged by some mechanical problems, however he chased back to the field eventually.
The result is a major positive for Hopkins, who had a challenging time in Stage Two, losing his overall lead. While he remains 57th in the general classification with a combined time of 10:27:28, the strong performance demonstrates his determination to compete at the front of the race.
With several stages still to come, Hopkins will be looking to carry this momentum forward as he aims to climb back up the overall standings.
