Bermuda's Olympian Jack Harvey came just shy of breaking the national record, with his performance at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
The Bermudian swimmer, competing in the Men’s 50m Backstroke, clocked a time of 25.55 seconds. According to the latest update to the Bermuda Long Course Records, he was just shy of the 25.21 record he set on May 1st, 2025, during the TYR Pro Series in Fort Lauderdale.
The performance in Singapore, had previously been acknowledged as a new record but not officially ratified. The latest update to the national records confirms that Harvey’s time of 25.55 was just shy of the time he set as the record earlier in the year.
